Memoir of the Century, music composed for London Arts Exhibition "Memoir of the Century," a unique mural by Feliks Topolski depicting the major political world events of the twentieth century and the personalities who fashioned them. Six hundred feet long, the 'Memoir' is painted on hardboard panels twenty feet high and curves snake-like through railway viaduct arches located at the South Banks Art Centre in London.
Bettina Gray’s music for the exhibit is “spatial” -- written to be heard from multiple sound sources placed in various sections of the exhibit. It combines electronic and acoustic sounds: Voice, Violin, Cello, audio sound-collage and synthesizer. Images in the playlist are from the memoir-mural.
